Q: Do I need a referral from my doctor?

A: No, you don’t need a referral from your doctor. If you have complex medical conditions it may be worth getting a referral from your GP/ doctor/specialist. You may be eligible for a medicare rebate if you have a chronic health condition.  To access this rebate you would need a medicare CDM care plan referral from your doctor/GP emailed or uploaded prior to the consultation. These cannot be backdated.

Q: Are consultations bulk billed?

A: No, consultations are not bulk billed. Payment for your consultation is done upfront to allow your dietitian to spend more time consulting with you about your specific condition. You will need to pay for your consult prior to claiming any rebates.
